Eric Newman
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Newman is a technology startup veteran with more than 25 years-experience building software products, teams, strategies and companies. A technology innovator, Eric has led new product introduction in the data management, predictive analytics and edge computing markets. He has led dramatic growth early-stage and mid-sized companies by unifying product and marketing strategies, along with implementing scalable marketing and sales processes. Eric comes to Viviota from Clockwork Solutions where he held the position of President and CEO. He holds a BA from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Barry Hutt
Chief Revenue Officer
Mr. Hutt co-founded Viviota to provide software to fully automate engineering data management and accelerate analyses at the Edge. Barry has over three decades of experience working with FORTUNE 2000 companies world-wide helping them accelerate their time-to-market and reduce costs. A technology industry visionary, he has a solid track record for identifying trends and creating new business opportunities while working at NI, Dell, IBM and Veritas software. Prior to Viviota Barry worked with business development efforts at NI. He is a frequent speaker at industry forums and events and holds a BS in Computer Science.

Darren Schmidt
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Schmidt has over 25 years bringing to market innovative products for engineers, especially, extreme customer applications where live data meets big data analytics. He is recognized for making numerous advances in the field of real-time analytics where online control and offline simulation play critical roles. Darren is the architect, designer and developer of the largest real-time numerical simulator for high-speed acquisition, computation and control. Darren comes to Viviota from NI. He is a contributor to 18 patents, and holds dual BA degrees in Pure Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Iowa. Darren has completed graduate studies in Computer Science from the University of Iowa.

Pete Zogas
SVP Business Development
Mr. Zogas comes to Viviota after a successful career at NI (formerly National Instruments), where he held leadership positions in sales and marketing and led growth from an $8M venture to an engineering product company with over $1.5B in sales. He’s driven growth through both internal organization design and through M&A activities. In his most recent role as Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Service at NI, he was responsible for revenue, customer success, and customer satisfaction building and leading a worldwide organization of direct sales staff and industry distributors and partners. Pete joined the Viviota Board of Directors in 2020. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University.

Justin Young, Ph.D.
Chief Architect
Dr. Justin Young is Chief Architect of Viviota Time-to-Insight (TTI) software. Justin works closely with engineering customers to understand their engineering data challenges resulting in several Viviota TTI innovations. He provides hands-on architecture leadership, guidance and mentoring to the Viviota engineering team. Justin works jointly with the Chief Technology Officer to ensure the delivery of high-quality, robust, and scalable solutions. He is a Certified LabVIEW Architect and expert in NI SystemLink software. Justin is a frequent technical speaker at industry forums and events. Dr. Young is an experimental physicist and holds a PhD in Physics from The Ohio State University.

Patricia Friar
Sr. Director of Marketing
Ms. Friar has over 25 years-experience as a marketing executive developing and directing GTM strategies and leading marketing organizations for venture-backed start-ups and midsize software companies. She has been active in bringing 11 early-stage software and storage companies to market and rebranded four turn-arounds, resulting in six successful acquisitions and one IPO. Prior to Viviota, Patricia was Managing Partner at The Compass Group, where she led business and marketing consulting. Patricia holds an AB in Archaeology from Cornell University and an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
